It just hit me (and I wish I had thought of this before), that elements of 'Flynn Rider's personality would also totally fit with what I was envisioning for Trill's dragon. Except adding the Flynn touch where he is cockier and more full of himself than Booth's personality alone..and maybe afraid/uneasy around horses. (Ok I'll admit it, I am a sucker for cocky rogues)

For Cabe, I definitely want to see something less formal and stiff, and perhaps even a 'scent' that is complimentary to his overall personality.

Love it, I think that would be great! What kind of scent do you envision? Maybe something nature related? I'm trying to think of what is a more 'formal' scent..maybe that would be something leather related, or rider life related (firestone, riding leathers, herdbeast smells, ink/hidework/document type..)..I dunno.

I think Iely might be good on a whimsical sort of playful dragon. The playful dragon could definitely be a cool thing, for the 'partner in crime' thing that Cab is talking about. A dragon to play in the mud with or go catch crawlers with. I really like what Cab said about independence, too. I think that'd be good.

Ooh, took advantage of her 'missing' key details that are intuitive. I like it!

Oh yeah, I agree, a rogue pirate sort of dragon. Maybe with a wilder side like Toothless from How to Train your Dragon, that is only tamed by the ones he cares about the most (except, you know, during training and weyrling drills, he has to behave..or Quap has to figure out how to make him behave? That could be interesting.) . And Toothless has many very endearing quirks and mannerisms such as the facial expression mimicry and trying to share his food, that I think would be lovely in a Pernese dragon as well.

Re: Quap's dragon by df_trilliandf_trillian, 27 Nov 2010 15:54

Another idea I love! Throwing in quirks that dragons have that really give you something extra to play off of. Being that Pernese are supposedly very superstitious, I would love to see dragons with superstitious beliefs because there's no end to the fun that can be had playing off something like that.

I've seen numerous dragons that like to collect things and that always does tend to be fun and allow for an easy in when it comes to meeting people and finding something to RP about. There are dragons who have fetishes for certain colors or smells and who have odd compulsions. I really do like seeing what people come up with and moreover, how they play it. For me, it's another one of those 'distinguishing' factors.

I personally love it when a dragon's mindvoice has a distinct quality to it. Accent, how they speak (whether they're stiff and formal or country twang) and definitely the 'scent' behind it. It always makes a dragon more distinctive when they have that, and I love it when something along that line is incorporated into the inspirations.

For Cabe, I definitely want to see something less formal and stiff, and perhaps even a 'scent' that is complimentary to his overall personality. I think it definitely helps set an overall aura for the dragon and certainly helps with developing them into distinct personalities.

I've come to discover that Quap does have quite a devious side to him and I loved exploring that through the scavenger hunt. I would love to see this influence continued/picked up upon by his dragon. I don't want to say that I think a 'bully' type dragon would suit Quap because that wouldn't, but I definitely see a strong alpha type personality matching well with Quap - helping him become more asserted and confident, but maintaining that roguish quality he already has.

Re: Quap's dragon by CabrienCabrien, 26 Nov 2010 23:44

I can imagine the interplay between these personalities - Trill's analytical side versus a dragon that is more instinctual and gut-driven - and I really love it. I think it'd be a great mix and would definitely give Trillian an avenue to develop and maybe even adopt some of her dragon's traits. I can see her doing that because she /is/ so analytical, and would be open to bettering her methods. I think too, it'd be a great deal of fun if Trillian's dragon sometimes took advantage of the fact that she is so methodological and analytical and perhaps used that to his advantage.

I haven't really had a chance to get to know Ielyzity, but from what I have gathered and seen, I think a great compliment to her personality and character would be a force that tries to encourage her to separate herself from the identity of her brothers, some sort of guiding influence that encourages her to become independent and to shed the 'little sister' skin she currently wears. I think she's young enough too, that it'd be a great compliment if she gained a 'partner in crime' in her dragon. I could really see that happening given her young age and how she'd mature with the dragon.

Oh man, one of my favorite parts about a dragon too! :D I love to see detail in mind voices instead of just a 'when soandso speaks, his/her voice will be quiet and shy.' The end. Because it helps to know just how this will be affecting your character. All that internal chatting isn't seen on-camera of course, but with a lot of detail on what the character might be hearing while they're off in the caverns or who knows where, it helps evolve them into playing something different. Two voices in their head, and gotta figure how they should be reacting to that new one… if that makes any sense? XD

Of course, having a good grasp on mindvoice helps in playing dragons with the dragons, too.

And at the end, it's telepathy. There's too much fun and silliness that could be had there. At the end, I don't know what would make Zity's dragon's mindvoice. But for others, it should definitely incorporate their personalities instead of just describing a feel to it. How would they use it in everyday life? Instead of just saying how they speak and what it smells like. :) Like mischievous dragons would definitely use it to their advantage, maybe whispering sneaky things to other dragons or people?

I think I'm just spamming without getting anywhere, too. >.> It's what I get when I come to the forums after a very long day. XD

So I don't actually have a specific dragon personality to just pin down Ielyzity, besides one that will mesh well with her. Nothing just cries out: THAT ONE! Plus, I love the surprise and the creativity put into a dragon by someone else and have that dragon become almost an entirely separate character :) But I am really curious to know what others might think Zity's ideal dragon would be? What's a dragon for her that could also probably mesh well (or not well?) with his/her siblings? ^^

Help on Zity's Ideal Dragon? by IelyzityIelyzity, 24 Nov 2010 04:50

How about a dragon who's afraid of crawlers/spiders, or tunnelsnakes. xD

And, hah, a dragon should so have a fear of harpers. Especially since Fort's infested with them.

Oooh, ooh, insomniac dragon! Now I want that. :) Or a narcoleptic one.

Hmm. Good point, Imogen! When you put it that way, I hope he keeps that character trait. It is fun to play off of.

Cab: ahaha, yeah, that sounds about right. XD

And P.S. Gremlin dragon, love it!! That was a great movie ! :)

Re: Cabe's 'dream' dragon by df_trilliandf_trillian, 24 Nov 2010 01:12

Something tells me that'd be less of an argument and more of a 'Eleni wins, the End'. XD

Re: Cabe's 'dream' dragon by CabrienCabrien, 23 Nov 2010 23:12

Personally, I kind of love the sexism. It's a more traditional way to play Pern, and not many people do it that way these days. I'd love to see him get in an argument with Eleni some time! :P

Re: Cabe's 'dream' dragon by imogennieimogennie, 23 Nov 2010 22:52

Yeah, I was advocating that either Ikt have a stickler for the rules dragon or like a mischievous dragon to help him get in more trouble, depending. But I think ninja would be totally awesome.

Also, a dragon that could maybe bring him out of his shy, quiet tendencies more as well would be good. As I said in the Qnaire, something that would go good with his over all personality.
